Golfing for Health: $121,000 Raised!Campbellton (N.B.) – On July 3, the Friends of Health Foundation raised nearly $121,000 at
its 12th annual golf tournament, which was organized in partnership with Molson Coors and the Port of Belledune at
the Restigouche Golf Club.
Under sunny skies, 205 golfers gathered with great enthusiasm to play golf for health. The guests
of honor for this 12th edition were none other than Steve Penney and Lucien Beblois. They kicked off the Foundation’s 12th
Annual Golf Tournament with a ceremonial first tee shot on the 1st hole.
According to Mr. Jean-Luc Landry, the Foundation’s executive director, the event was once again a resounding success. “I was
delighted by the interest and enthusiasm people showed during the tournament. In fact, I’m thrilled to
report that attendance was at its highest and that we raised a very impressive
amount. It’s important to note that this success would not have been possible without our major sponsors,
Molson Coors Canada and Port de Belledune, our Gold sponsors, Restigouche Drive-Thru, SOMMET FM,
NHL Legends, McIntyre Refrigeration & Ventilation Co., Vitalité, UNI Entreprises, Dooly’s Campbellton, Meubles
Klomie, and A.L.P.A. Equipment, Restigouche Home Care, Soins à domicile Mallais, our wine sponsor,Friends of Health, our Silver sponsors, as well as the hole sponsors, the merchants who
donated prizes, the participants, the donors, and, of course, our invaluable volunteers. Without these
priceless contributions, we would not have been able to raise such a large amount.”
Mr. Allison Metallic, owner of Restigouche Drive-Thru, and Dr. Hristo Laevski, owner of Lefter’s
Memorial Corp., are very proud to have partnered with the Friends of Health Foundation for the 12th edition of the
annual golf tournament. “This golf tournament is a must-attend event in the region! And it’s for a good cause,
too!” said Mr. Metallic. “Since I’m involved in the Foundation’s golf tournament, I can’t
help but be delighted by such a success. All 205 participants can be proud of having contributed to
maintaining and improving health care here in Restigouche, and of having helped raise a total of
$121,000,” added Dr. Laevski.
Mr. Landry took the opportunity to highlight the presentation by Ms. Wendy Aubé of a $5,000 check
on behalf of Les Amis de la santé. This is yet another generous donation that will help maintain and
improve health care in OUR community.
Finally, the Foundation thanks the public for their unwavering support and looks forward to seeing everyone at its
13th Annual Golf Tournament, which will take place in July 2027.
