Campbellton (NB) – The 8th Edition of the Doctors’ Walk, that was held on October 8 raised over $21,000. This amount will be used toward the purchase of specialized medical equipment for our region.
After a pause of 2 years due to the COVID-19 pandemic, approximately 150 participants received a t-shirt before beginning the 5-km course in support of this cause.
“We are proud of the support shown by the population,” declared Jean-Luc Landry, Executive Director of the Friends of Healthcare Foundation. “We had a frisky day for this event but the atmosphere was festive. We wish to thank the management and players of the Tigers for participating actively in the Walk and to the International students who were distributing the T-shirts for the event.”
Finally, Mr. Landry wishes to thank all the volunteers, donors and participants who braved the frisky weather and supported the Walk. He would like to thank the sponsors who made this event possible, namely A.L.P.A. Equipment Ltd, AV Group Inc., Medavie Blue Cross as well as Soup’N Sweets Campbellton Regional Hospital (For the water before the walk), the Campbellton IGA store for handing out water bottles during the Walk, the Campbellton Richelieu Club for providing the inflatable arch, 95 CKNB, SOMMET-FM and finally members of the RCMP who provided security. Let’s Walk again next year for the 9th Edition of the Doctors’ Walk!
