Campbellton, New Brunswick – On July 8th, the Friends of Healthcare Foundation raised close to $80,000 during its fourth Annual Golf Tournament held at the Restigouche Golf Club and organized in partnership with Plaza Chevrolet Buick GMC and Restigouche Drive‑Thru. This amount sets a new record for the annual event!
Despite uncertain weather conditions, a number of the region’s health professionals and business people came together for an enjoyable day of golfing. Molson Coors Canada, major sponsor of the event, was in attendance as well as the honorary president of this year’s Tournament, Mr. Guy Lafleur, former star player of the Montréal Canadiens and Hall of Famer. Mr. Lafleur was a real gentleman and was very generous of his presence throughout the day.
According to Mr. Jean-Luc Landry, Executive Director of the Foundation, the event was a huge success. “I was thrilled by the interest and enthusiasm shown by the participants during the tournament. I am happy to report that the event was once again almost at full capacity! It is important to mention that such success was made possible thanks to our primary partners and gold sponsors, namely Plaza Chevrolet Buick GMC, Restigouche Drive-Thru, CIMS FM, SNC-Lavallin, UNI and Tim Hortons, as well as our silver sponsors, our various hole sponsors, the business people who offered prizes, all the participants, our donors and of course our precious volunteers. Without their invaluable contributions, it would have been impossible to raise such an amount.
Mr. Jean-Jacques Normand, owner of Plaza Chevrolet Buick GMC, and Mr. Allison Metallic, owner of Restigouche Drive‑Thru, were very proud to be associated with the Friends of Healthcare Foundation for the fourth edition of the golfing event. In addition, they were also very happy to point out that after only four years, this event has become a prestigious golf tournament for this region, “Plus, it’s all for a worthy and charitable cause!” said Mr. Jean-Jacques Normand. “Being involved with the Foundation’s golf tournament, I cannot help but feel ecstatic by such success” stated Mr. Allison Metallic.
Mr. Landry took the opportunity to announce the first planned donation received by the Friends of Healthcare Foundation, namely a life insurance policy given by Mr. Gilles Perron of Services financiers Gilles Perron Inc. Planned donations are another great way to make a donation to the Foundation and therefore help maintain and improve health care services offered in OUR community.
Finally, the Foundation thanks the public for their ongoing support and invites everyone to take part in the organization’s fifth Annual Charity Golf Tournament, scheduled for Friday, July 7th, 2017.
