Campbellton, New Brunswick – On July 7, the Friends of Healthcare Foundation raised close to $74,000 during its fifth Annual Golf Tournament held at the Restigouche Golf Club and organized in partnership with Plaza Chevrolet Buick GMC and Restigouche Drive‑Thru. This amount represents one of the best results for the annual event!
Despite chances of thunderstorms, a number of the region’s health professionals and business people came together for a warm summer day of golfing. Molson Coors Canada, major sponsor of the event, was in attendance as well as the honorary president of this year’s Tournament, Mr. Yvan “The Road Runner” Cournoyer, former star player of the Montréal Canadiens and Hall of Famer. Mr. Cournoyer was a real gentleman and was very generous of his presence throughout the day.
According to Mr. Jean-Luc Landry, Executive Director of the Foundation, the event was a huge success. “I was thrilled by the interest and enthusiasm shown by the participants during the tournament. I am happy to report that the event was once again almost at full capacity! It is important to mention that such success was made possible thanks to our primary partners and gold sponsors, namely Plaza Chevrolet Buick GMC, Restigouche Drive-Thru, CIMS FM, McIntyre Refrigeration & Ventilation Co. Ltd., NHL Legends and UNI, as well as our silver sponsors, our hole sponsors, the business people who donated prizes, all the participants, our donors and of course our precious volunteers. Without their invaluable contributions, it would have been impossible to raise such an amount.”
